ASELSAN Introduces ALP 100-G: Turkey’s New Multi-Functional AESA Radar Elevates Air Defense Capabilities

ASELSAN, a cornerstone of Turkey’s burgeoning defense industry, has unveiled a significant enhancement to its national air defense architecture. The multi-functional ALP 100-G Low Altitude Radar System is poised to become a critical force multiplier within the nation’s layered air defense concept, integrating advanced AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) technology to address the complexities of modern combat environments.

As the latest addition to ASELSAN’s scalable S-band radar family, the ALP 100-G is engineered to serve dual roles: a primary search radar for ground-based air defense batteries and a crucial ‘gap filler’ to mitigate blind spots often encountered by longer-range radar systems. Its design prioritizes maximizing border security against a spectrum of contemporary aerial threats. The system demonstrates exceptional precision in detecting and tracking targets across low, medium, and high altitudes, with a formidable operational range extending beyond 100 nautical miles.

For comprehensive and secure situational awareness, the ALP 100-G incorporates a fully integrated Mod 5 / Mod S Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) interrogator architecture. This advanced feature ensures infallible target discrimination, even within the most intricate operational theaters, providing operators with an uncompromised air picture.

Recognizing the imperative for tactical agility, the ALP 100-G is fully integrated onto an 8×8 tactical wheeled vehicle platform, encompassing all its power and communication subsystems. This configuration grants the system outstanding off-road mobility, allowing for swift relocation without detection – a vital attribute in dynamic warfare scenarios. Further emphasizing its strategic readiness, the ALP 100-G can be rapidly deployed globally via A400M military transport aircraft. Remarkably, a crew of just two personnel can bring the system to full operational readiness within 15 minutes, and similarly, prepare it for transport in the same short timeframe.

Beyond conventional aerial targets like aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and helicopters, the ALP 100-G offers superior protection against asymmetric threats. It is capable of early detection and warning for challenging ballistic targets, including rockets, mortars, and artillery rounds. A standout feature, the “Special Weapon Detection Mode,” precisely calculates both the launch and impact points of enemy munitions. This critical intelligence enables friendly forces to execute immediate and effective counter-battery fire, significantly neutralizing adversary positions.
